API Access

1. Overview

The Legitly™ API powers a full white-label authentication experience for verified brands, allowing your customers to cross-check your Holographic Labels and Authentication Codes against the Legitly database under your own branded subdomain and, where integrated, directly on your own website through a configurable pop-up verification modal.

API access is provided by our Support staff on a case-by-case basis, after your brand has been confirmed and the eligibility and integration requirements below are met. This page forms part of, and is subject to, our Terms of Service and Anti-Counterfeit Agreement.

2. Eligibility and Brand Verification

API access is free for verified companies, brands, distributors, creators, and similar businesses. Before access is granted, however, we must first verify the authenticity of the brand and confirm that you have the lawful right to authenticate the products you intend to register.

We may request documentation reasonably necessary to confirm brand ownership or authorization. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to approve, condition, decline, suspend, or revoke API access, including where brand authenticity cannot be confirmed.

3. White-Label Verification and Your Subdomain

Once approved, your customers verify your products through a white-label experience hosted under your own subdomain (for example, brand.legitly.com).

Subdomain prefixes are supported on a first-come, first-served basis. If another company shares the same name or the requested prefix is otherwise unavailable, a modified version of the subdomain will be issued for reference — for example, brandX.legitly.com or Xbrand.legitly.com. Subdomains are licensed for use with the Services and remain part of the legitly.com domain; no ownership of any subdomain is transferred to you.

4. Conditional Access – Hosting Requirement

Verified brands receive specialized technical assistance — including help setting up their system and access to our API — conditional on maintaining an active hosting relationship with Legitly. Specifically, you must either:

• carry an active $99 / month Hosting membership with us; or
• qualify for free Hosting by having purchased 800,000 stickers or more.

5. One-Time Setup and Integration Fee

A single, one-time setup fee of $149.99 applies for API integration and custom integration. This fee is in addition to, and separate from, the hosting requirement described above.

6. Team Integration Required; No Waiver

This requirement protects the integrity and security of the authentication system for every brand and consumer who relies on it.

7. How to Request Access

To begin, contact us through the “Chat Now” button on our homepage or our live support page at /support-now, or email info@legitly.com. Our Support staff will confirm your brand, review eligibility, provision your subdomain, and schedule the team-performed integration. See the Support page for more.

8. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

Your use of the API and white-label system is governed by our Terms of Service and Anti-Counterfeit Agreement. Without limiting those agreements, you shall not: resell, sublicense, or provide the API to third parties except as expressly authorized; exceed rate limits or circumvent security or single-scan functionality; reverse engineer the API or the verification system; misrepresent verification results; or use the API to authenticate products you do not have the lawful right to authenticate. We may rotate or revoke credentials and suspend access to protect the platform.

9. Changes to This Page

We may update the terms, fees, eligibility, and features described on this page from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date, and changes apply prospectively. Pricing and qualification thresholds in effect at the time of your integration govern that integration unless otherwise agreed in writing.
